I would like to apologize for being off the grid for a bit but I’m back. And now I would like to share with you some really great cocktails. The first one is one that I made for Thanksgiving called the Bourbon Bomber. I am a big fan of bourban so I was looking for something different that would be a good fall drink and go well with Thanksgiving dinner, this was it! I happened to be addicted to pinterest and both of the following recipes were found there.
Put the following in a cocktail shaker with several ice cubes:
1/4 cup Bourban (I am partial to Maker’s Mark)
3/4 cup Apple Cider
1/2 tsp agave nectar (be careful, it’s very sweet!)
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp lemon zest
1/4 tsp nutmeg
a pinch of grated fresh ginger
Shake well, strain over a rocks glass, add a spring of fresh rosemary and top with a dash of bitters….absolutley delicious, just be careful because they go down easily and they are not called the bourban “bomber” for nothing!
My next cocktail is creamy cocktail goodness, it is the Cherry Almond Cream Cocktail, a great dessert drink!
Put the following into a rocks glass with ice:
3/4 ounce Cherry brandy
3/4 ounce Amaretto
Whole milk (the recipe called for half and half but I found it to be too much)
Cherry for garnish
