Simple and Delicious! Korean Beef

My newest obsession is Pinterest and I am truly smitten. I just love all those pictures with all those fabulous ideas, especially the recipes. I found this simple and really yummy recipe there*which I shared with my co-workers and we all happened to make it on the same night and all got the same reaction from our families…this is a KEEPER! So now I am sharing it with you.

Korean Beef with Rice is Nice!

1 lb lean ground beef

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 Tbls sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp fresh ginger, minced

1/2 tsp to 1 tsp crushed red pepper (to desired spiciness)

salt and pepper

1 bunch green onions

Heat large skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef with the garlic and the sesame oil.  Drain the fat and add the brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, salt and pepper to taste and the crushed red pepper. Simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors. Serve over rice and top with chopped green onions. I also like to serve a vegetable like steamed broccoli with it to make the meal complete.

Yes, this is as easy, inexpensive and as delicious as it sounds. And as I am writing this I am thinking that it would probably taste really good using ground pork. Enjoy and let me know what you think…Happy Eating!
